Settling the Case

Many injured workers would prefer a lump sum settlement of their workers’ compensation claim to continuing weekly payment of benefits.

The attorneys of J. Franklin Burns, P.C., can negotiate fair workers’ comp settlements for their clients through mediation or negotiation. If you are considering the option of claims settlement, please contact our law firm to discuss your case. The initial consultation is free of charge.

Legal Help for Injured Workers
Call 678-298-0323

We do not recommend you settle your workers’ compensation case until your doctor agrees that you have reached maximum physical recovery from your injuries and that no further improvement in anticipated. At that time, we can meet with the workers’ compensation defense attorney and/or claims adjuster to work out a fair settlement arrangement.

Sometimes our clients desire to settle cases before their recovery is complete. Our attorneys will help you weigh the pros and cons of settling a claim. In cases involving catastrophic injuries that may require continuing medical attention, it may be to your advantage to keep your case open and continue weekly payment of benefits.

Advocating in Your Best Interest

As in all negotiations and litigation, our role is to advocate for our client. We will press hard to achieve an attractive settlement offer. In many cases, we will request that the workers’ compensation insurance company continue to pay for medical care for a certain period of time in addition to paying a lump sum of money.

From offices in suburban Atlanta, Georgia, we represent injured workers statewide.
